Parmi ces paysages embl\u00e9matiques, on retrouve principalement deux types de formations g\u00e9ologiques : l\u2019ERG et le REG<br>L\u2019ERG : les dunes de sable du Sahara<br>Contrairement aux id\u00e9es re\u00e7ues, les <strong>ergs<\/strong>, ces vastes \u00e9tendues de <strong>dunes de sable<\/strong>, ne couvrent qu\u2019environ <strong>20 % de la surface totale du Sahara<\/strong>. Ce type de d\u00e9sert est compos\u00e9 de <strong>dunes form\u00e9es par l\u2019accumulation de sable<\/strong> transport\u00e9 principalement par le vent, mais aussi par les <strong>oueds<\/strong>, ces cours d\u2019eau temporaires qui traversent le d\u00e9sert.<br>Les <strong>oueds<\/strong>, secs la plupart du temps, peuvent se transformer en <strong>r\u00e9serves d\u2019eau naturelles<\/strong> lors de fortes pluies, donnant naissance \u00e0 de v\u00e9ritables oasis ou <strong>zones de p\u00e2turage temporaire<\/strong>, id\u00e9ales pour le b\u00e9tail. Ces r\u00e9gions sablonneuses offrent un paysage spectaculaire et changeant, constamment remodel\u00e9 par les vents.<br>Le REG : un d\u00e9sert min\u00e9ral au paysage lunaire<br>\u00c0 la diff\u00e9rence des ergs, les <strong>regs<\/strong> constituent les <strong>paysages d\u00e9sertiques les plus r\u00e9pandus du Sahara<\/strong>. Ils se caract\u00e9risent par de <strong>vastes \u00e9tendues rocailleuses<\/strong>, recouvertes de <strong>graviers, galets et cailloux<\/strong> polis par l\u2019\u00e9rosion au fil des mill\u00e9naires. Ce type de d\u00e9sert, aussi appel\u00e9 <strong>d\u00e9sert de pierres<\/strong>, offre un <strong>aspect lunaire<\/strong>, presque surnaturel, qui fascine les voyageurs et les photographes.<br>La <strong>v\u00e9g\u00e9tation dans les regs<\/strong> est extr\u00eamement rare en raison des conditions climatiques extr\u00eames. Toutefois, on peut parfois apercevoir des plantes r\u00e9sistantes comme les <strong>acacias<\/strong> et les <strong>tamaris<\/strong>, diss\u00e9min\u00e9s \u00e7\u00e0 et l\u00e0 dans cet environnement aride.<br><br>Un d\u00e9sert aux multiples visages<br>La distinction entre erg et reg permet de mieux comprendre la <strong>diversit\u00e9 g\u00e9ologique et \u00e9cologique du Sahara<\/strong>. Ces deux types de d\u00e9serts contribuent \u00e0 la <strong>richesse naturelle<\/strong> et \u00e0 la <strong>beaut\u00e9 saisissante<\/strong> de cet environnement unique au monde.
